What is Citation?

A citation is a reference to a published or unpublished source.


What is the purpose of citation?

  • To uphold intellectual honesty and avoid plagiarism. 
  • To attribute prior or unoriginal work and ideas to the correct sources.
  • To allow the reader to track down and evaluate the sources used by the author.


What is Digital Object Identifier (DOI)? 

A digital object identifier (DOI) is a unique alphanumeric string assigned by a registration agency (the International DOI Foundation) to identify content and provide a persistent link to its location on the Internet. The publisher assigns a DOI when your article is published and made available electronically.
