Dewey Decimal Classification System
The DDC categorizes books by subject matter. It divides all books into ten major classes, each of which has ten divisions, each of which has ten sections. Books are placed on the shelf in numerical order.
Understanding call numbers according to DDC and LC classification system
Each Library material has a unique call number, which is a combination of numbers and letters. Numbers represent the subject of material, the letters represent the first three letters of the book title or the author's name.
Renewing/Placing hold on checked out books
All registered library users may renew checked out books through "My Account" section in WebOPAC by entering their ID and password.
Placing hold on checked out books
All registered library users may place hold on checked out books through "My Account" section in WebOPAC, entering their ID and password
- allows searching by keyword(s) or a phrase. Simple search
-allows searching by main title, subjects, all authors, etc. Browse search
- allows searching one or more fields simultaneously using AND, OR, or AND NOT boolean operators between searches. Advanced search
allows performing a simple search by Author, Title, Subject, or all three fields using appropriate icons. Icon search -
Keywords or phrases may also be searched.

Using My Account
in WebOPAC allows you to view your checkouts, placed holds and transactions history. You may also My Account renew your checked out books and place hold on item through . My Account
To Renew Your Checkouts :
Go to My Account > “My Checkouts”.
Select the checkouts you wish to renew.
Click on the “Renew” button.
A notification box should appear saying “X item(s) renewed”.
Note and remember the new due dates of your checkouts.
Important Notice: If there is hold placed on your checkout, you may not be able to renew it.
To Place Hold on Item:
Find the item in the Library Catalog
Click on the hold icon which appears on the left.
Enter User ID and Password
Select a due date from Cancelation date drop down menu.
Click on the “Hold” button.
A message should appear saying “You are in position X on this hold list”.
Go to My Account
Click on Sign out on the right
You will be notified by phone or email when the book becomes available.
