Why Wikipedia for Sharing Climate Change Information?
Wikipedia is an open online encyclopedia launched in 2001 where articles are open source and are constantly being updated and improved by editors.
With more than 20 billion pageviews every month, Wikipedia is a knowledge portal that reaches a huge audience, more than any other climate change/climate justice hub or website online.
There are approximately 312 different language editions of Wikipedia, which makes the information more accessible to diverse communities of readers online.
Wikipedia is not a scholarly source, but has a number of checks and balances to ensure the accuracy of its added content, such as citing sources and informal post-publishing review process by the community of editors, who review, edit, debate, or reverse published articles.
